Virtual Time and Real Interestingness for Cyber Cities and Virtual Museums
Andrej Ferko, Comenius University Bratislava, Slovakia

Besides space and memory (inscape, mindscape) a time is a crucial resource for virtual environments. We discuss its nature, structuring, visualization, and control in general, mainly by Qvortrup et al. A virtual tourist intends to maximize the interestingness of the time spent during being immersed. However, the measure of interestingness is not well defined. We analyze and exemplify user experience from this point of view. Particular results from multiple projects, e.g. Virtual Bratislava and Virtual Museum of Tinkering Art and Craft, will be presented.
